Where Opus files come from

Opus is everywhere people talk online. Voice messages saved from WhatsApp often end in .opus, Telegram voice messages use Opus inside .ogg files, and audio downloaded from some websites comes as Opus in .webm. Opus makes small files that sound clear, but many media players, editing apps, car stereos and upload forms don’t open it. MP3 does.
