How to convert hours to minutes
- Take the value in hours.
- Use the formula minutes = hours × 60.
- For example, 1.25 h is 75 min.
About hours and minutes
Multiply hours by 60 to get minutes. Each tenth of an hour is 6 minutes, so 0.1 h is 6 min, 0.5 h is 30 min and 0.75 h is 45 min.
Decimal hours come from timesheets, flight logs, video lengths and fitness apps. Turning them into minutes, or into hours and minutes, makes them readable on a clock.
Examples
- 1.25 h (a timesheet entry of 1 h 15 min) is 75 min
- 8 h (a standard working day) is 480 min
- 24 h (one day) is 1,440 min
- 168 h (one week) is 10,080 min
