How to flip an image
- Drop your image into the box, choose a file, or paste one.
- Click Flip horizontal to mirror it left to right, or Flip vertical to turn it upside down as a mirror image.
- Click Download to save it.
Horizontal or vertical?
A horizontal flip swaps left and right, like looking in a mirror. It’s the one you want for selfies, scanned documents that came out reversed and design work where an image should face the other way. A vertical flip swaps top and bottom, which makes a reflection effect, such as a mountain in a lake.
Faces look different flipped
Most faces aren’t perfectly symmetrical, so a flipped photo of yourself can look odd. You’re used to your mirror image, while everyone else sees you the other way round. That’s why many people prefer the mirrored selfie and others prefer the flipped one.
