Square images for social media
A square is the safest shape for a social post: it shows in full in feeds and grids, and nothing gets cut off in previews. Phone photos are usually 4:3 or 16:9, so turning them into squares means either cropping the edges or adding borders. Crop to fill works best for portraits and close-ups, while Fit inside keeps landscapes, screenshots and text slides whole.
