How to edit a PDF

  1. Drop your PDF in the box or choose it. Every page appears, ready to edit.
  2. Pick a tool: Text to type anywhere, Whiteout to cover something, Highlight, Draw, or Add picture. Click or drag on the page to use it.
  3. Move anything you added by dragging it, and pull its corner to resize it. When it looks right, press Download edited PDF.

What you can do

  • Add text anywhere. Click where the words should go and type, with the size, font (sans, serif or mono), bold and any color you pick. Select a text box later to change any of those.
  • White out a mistake, an old date or anything else by dragging over it, then type over the white. On a colored or gray page, set the cover color to match the paper.
  • Highlight text by dragging across it to mark it in yellow, green, pink, blue or a color of your own, like a highlighter pen.
  • Draw freehand to write, circle, underline or tick boxes with a fine, medium or thick pen.
  • Add pictures. Put a logo, a stamp or a photo on a page and size it to fit.

Everything you add can be moved, resized and deleted until you download, and Undo goes back step by step. Pick Select and click something you added to change its color, pen or text settings.

Tips

  • Match the form’s text size. Most printed forms use text around 10 to 12 points. Zoom in with the + button above the pages if they look small (on a phone 200% or more helps), and line text up with the arrow keys (hold Shift to move faster).
  • Fix a typo in the original. Whiteout the wrong word, then add the right one with Text in a matching font: Sans for most documents, Serif for letters and books.
  • Sign as well. For a proper signature with a typed, drawn or uploaded style, use Sign PDF after editing.
  • Then tidy the file. Compress the PDF to make it smaller for email, or merge it with other documents.
