How to merge PDF files

  1. Drop your PDFs into the box or choose them. Add as many as you need.
  2. Check the first page of each file in the list, and drag the files into the order you want. To take only some pages from a file, type them in its Pages box, such as 1-3, 5.
  3. Click Merge PDFs to download one combined file.

Common reasons to merge PDFs

  • Sending one file instead of several, such as a job application with a CV, cover letter and certificates.
  • Combining scanned pages that were saved as separate files.
  • Putting monthly statements or invoices together for an accountant.
  • Building a single handout from slides, notes and worksheets.

Tips

Name your files with numbers first (01-cover.pdf, 02-report.pdf) and they’ll usually arrive in the right order, so there’s less dragging. If the merged file is too big to email, scanned pages are usually the cause: scanning at 150 to 200 dpi instead of 600 dpi makes files several times smaller.
