About milliliters and liters
A liter is 1,000 milliliters, so divide ml by 1,000 to get liters. 500 ml is 0.5 L, 1,750 ml is 1.75 L and 330 ml is 0.33 L.
Drinks, medicine, cosmetics and recipes are labelled in ml, while engine oil, fuel and daily water goals are often in liters. Adding up bottles to reach a target is easier once everything is in the same unit.
Examples
- 330 ml (a standard drink can in Europe) is 0.33 L
- 500 ml (a small bottle of water) is 0.5 L
- 750 ml (a standard wine bottle) is 0.75 L
- 2,000 ml (a large soda bottle) is 2 L
