How to work out stacks
- Type how many items you have or need, or switch I have to Stacks. You can also type stacks and items together, such as 39 stacks + 4.
- Pick the Stack size: 64 for most blocks, 16 for things like ender pearls and snowballs, 1 for tools and armour.
- Read the stacks, inventory slots, chests and shulker boxes it takes.
Storage at a glance
| Container | Slots | Items (stacks of 64) | Items (stacks of 16) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Player inventory | 36 | 2,304 | 576 |
| Chest or shulker box | 27 | 1,728 | 432 |
| Double chest | 54 | 3,456 | 864 |
| Double chest of full shulker boxes | 54 boxes | 93,312 | 23,328 |
Planning big builds
Large projects use more blocks than people expect. A wall 100 blocks long and 10 high is 1,000 blocks, nearly 16 stacks. A hollow sphere 21 blocks across takes well over 1,000. Work out the total first, then gather in shulker boxes so one trip carries a full box per slot.
When you’re mining or trading for materials, convert the target into stacks here and track progress in stacks rather than single items. It’s much easier to count what’s left in a chest that way.
