1 hour timer

Countdown from one hour.

05:00

Keyboard: Space start, pause and stop the alarm, R reset

Keeps running if you switch tabs or reload the page.

Runs in your browser. Nothing uploaded.

How to use the 1 hour timer

  1. The timer is set to 1 hour. Press Start or the space bar.
  2. Use your computer as normal. The time left shows in the tab title, and the timer survives a reload.
  3. When the hour is up, the alarm rings for up to a minute. Press space or Stop alarm.

One hour sessions

An hour is a common length for a practice exam paper, a revision session, a lesson with a tutor, a gym class or a board game with a time limit. Running a visible timer means you don’t have to watch the clock, and you can see at a glance how much is left. Press Full screen to show it on a projector or a TV.

If an hour of focus is too long in one go, split it: a 45 minute timer with a 15 minute break, or two 25 minute Pomodoro sessions with short breaks from the Pomodoro timer.

Around the house

An hour turns up in plenty of everyday jobs: letting bread dough rise, roasting a chicken, slow cooking, a pay-and-display parking ticket, a washing machine cycle or a child’s screen time. The timer keeps counting when the tab is in the background or after a reload, so you can start it and get on with something else.
