Online alarm clock

Set an alarm in your browser.

Type a time like 7:30, 19:30 or 7:30 pm.

No alarm set

While an alarm is set, this page asks your device to keep the screen on.

Keep this tab open, your device awake and the sound on. Your alarm is saved on this device.

Runs in your browser. Nothing uploaded.

How to set an alarm

  1. Type a time in Alarm time, such as 6:45, 18:45 or 6:45 pm, add a Label if you like and press Set alarm or Enter. If that time has already passed today, the alarm is set for tomorrow.
  2. Or press a quick alarm, from In 5 min to In 1 hour. The line below shows when it will ring and how long is left.
  3. When it rings, press Stop, the space bar or Esc, or Snooze 5 min to have it ring again in five minutes. Pick the alarm sound and volume below, and press Test sound to hear it.

Making sure it rings

A browser alarm is handy at a desk but less dependable than a phone or a bedside clock. Before you count on it:

  • Test it first. Press In 5 min once to hear the sound and check your volume.
  • Leave the tab open. It can be behind other tabs or windows, but closing it cancels the alarm.
  • Turn the sound on. Check the system volume isn’t muted and the tab itself isn’t muted. Headphones that you take off won’t wake you.
  • Keep the device awake. Plug in a laptop and set it not to sleep, or the alarm can’t play.

When the alarm goes off, it keeps ringing until you press Stop or Snooze (or for 10 minutes), and the browser tab title changes to the alarm’s label so you can find the right tab quickly.

Quick alarms, labels and the clock

Quick alarms count from the moment you press them, so In 10 min is a quick way to time a break or a pot on the stove. Whatever is in the Label box is used for quick alarms too, and it’s shown on screen when the alarm rings.

There is one alarm at a time. Setting a new one replaces the old one, and Cancel next to the status line removes it. Tick 12-hour clock to see times with AM and PM; the first time you visit it follows your device’s usual format, and your choice is remembered after that.
