How to unscramble letters
- Type your letters into Letters, up to 15. Add ? for a blank that can be any letter.
- The words appear as you type, longest first, grouped by length and in alphabetical order.
- Open Filters to keep only words that contain, start with or end with certain letters, or that use every letter. Click a word to copy it.
Unscrambling by hand
When you’re stuck on a jumble, try these before reaching for a solver:
- Look for common endings like -ing, -ed, -er, -est and -tion, and set them aside first. What’s left is a shorter puzzle.
- Try common pairs such as th, ch, sh, qu and st at the start.
- Separate vowels and consonants. Alternating them often reveals a word.
- Write the letters in a circle. Seeing them out of line helps your brain stop reading the scrambled order.
Word games that use it
The unscrambler helps with daily jumbles and anagram puzzles, word searches with a twist, and party games where you make as many words as you can from one long word. For board games with letter scores, the Scrabble word finder shows points for each word. For five-letter guessing games, use the Wordle solver.
