How to find Scrabble words
- Type the letters on your rack into Your rack. Use ? for each blank tile.
- To build on a word already on the board, type its letters into Play through letters on the board. Only words that use them in that order are shown.
- The words are listed by score, best first, with each word’s points next to it. Switch Sort by to Length to see them grouped by size. Click a word to copy it.
Finding the best play
The word with the most points on this list isn’t always the best move. A board square can turn a modest word into a big score: a 4-point word on a triple word square beats a 10-point word with no bonus. Use the list to see your options, then check which of them reach the bonus squares on your board.
A few habits help:
- Keep good tiles. S and blanks can add to almost any word for a big score later, so don’t spend them on a small play.
- Use the heavy letters. J, Q, X and Z score well, especially on letter bonuses. Short words like jo, qat, ax and zax make them easier to place.
- Play through letters on the board. Type them in to find longer words that build on what’s there.
Bingos
Using all seven tiles in one turn earns a 50-point bonus in Scrabble. With your seven tiles in the rack, the longest group in Length order shows any seven-letter words they make. Adding a board letter to play through finds eight-letter bingos too.
For anagrams without scores, use the word unscrambler.
