How to play Word scramble
- Pick a time (1 minute, 2 minutes or Custom for any number of seconds) to solve as many words as you can, or No timer to play at your own pace, then press Start. End game stops a round early and shows your score.
- Rearrange the five letters into a word: type it, or click the tiles in order. When all five are in place, the answer is checked.
- Stuck? Hint fills in the next letter (each hint costs 3 of the word’s 10 points), Shuffle mixes the tiles, and Skip moves on.
Tips for unscrambling words
- Look for common pairs. TH, CH, SH, ST, ER and ING-style endings show up in many words. Spot one and the rest often falls into place.
- Try vowels in the middle. Five-letter words usually have one or two vowels, often in the second or third place.
- Think of word endings. Words often end in E, S, Y, ER or ED. Put those letters last and see what’s left.
- Shuffle when stuck. A new order can make the word jump out.
