How to take the visual memory test
- Press Start. Some squares on the grid light up for 1.2 seconds.
- When they hide, tap every square that was lit. Correct squares stay lit; wrong ones are marked.
- Find them all to go up a level. Three wrong squares in one level cost a life, and the game ends when your three lives are gone.
How the test works
Each level flashes a pattern of squares for 1.2 seconds, then hides it. Tap the squares you remember in any order. Every correct square lights up again and stays lit, so you can see how many are left.
A wrong square is marked and counts as a miss. Three misses in a single level lose one of your three lives and start a new pattern at the same level. The grid gets bigger as the levels go up, so the squares get smaller and there are more places to look.
Tips
- Look at the shape, not single squares. Groups of lit squares often form lines, corners or letters that are easier to remember than separate positions.
- Count them. Knowing there are 9 squares to find tells you when you’ve missed one.
- Don’t rush the first taps. There’s no clock once the pattern hides, so place the squares you’re sure of first.
