What is a UUID?
A UUID (universally unique identifier) is a 128-bit ID written as 32 hexadecimal digits, like
3f6c2a1e-8b4d-4c7a-9e21-5d0f7b3a9c18. Because they are practically unique, any system can create them
independently without checking a central database, which makes them ideal for database keys, file names and
request IDs.
