How to convert UTC to India time
- Type the UTC time, for example 09:00 from a server log or an exam notice, and pick the UTC date.
- From is UTC and To is India (IST). Switch Clock to 24-hour if your source uses it.
- Read the India time. Anything from 18:30 UTC onwards is already the next day in India.

Where you meet UTC in India
Cloud dashboards, server logs, GitHub and most APIs show time in UTC, so a deploy at 14:00 UTC happened at 7:30 pm in India. Online exams, global product launches, crypto exchanges and esports schedules are often announced in UTC too, which is where the next-day trap catches people: an event at 20:00 UTC on Friday starts at 1:30 am on Saturday in India.
A timestamp written in ISO 8601 with an offset already carries the answer. 2026-07-15T14:00Z and 2026-07-15T19:30+05:30 are the same moment, one in UTC and one in IST.
A working day in both
A 9 am to 6 pm day in India runs from 03:30 to 12:30 UTC. If you’re scheduling with a team that keeps UTC hours, the Indian afternoon is their morning: 2:30 pm in India is 09:00 UTC.
