How to convert Eastern Time to UTC
- Enter the Eastern time and the date it happens on in New York.

- Copy the UTC time. If it rolls past midnight, the result shows the next day.

Scheduling jobs in UTC from the East Coast
If you set up a scheduled task or cron job in UTC to run at a fixed Eastern time, it will drift by an hour twice a year. A job at 13:00 UTC runs at 9 am in New York in summer but at 8 am in winter. Either accept the shift, update the schedule on the second Sunday in March and the first Sunday in November, or use a scheduler that takes a named time zone like America/New_York.
The same applies to webinars and launches announced in UTC: check the date you’re converting, not today’s offset.
