About tablespoons and teaspoons
A US tablespoon is exactly 3 US teaspoons, so multiply tablespoons by 3. Half a tablespoon is 1.5 teaspoons and a quarter tablespoon is 0.75 teaspoons.
This is the swap you make when the tablespoon is in the dishwasher, or when you scale a recipe down and a tablespoon amount becomes awkward. The same 3 to 1 ratio holds for metric spoons of 15 ml and 5 ml.
