How to write in small caps
- Type your text into Input. Use a capital wherever you want a full-height letter.
- Every lowercase letter turns into a small capital. Capitals, numbers and punctuation stay as they are.
- Copy the result. For small caps all the way through, type everything in lowercase first.
Small caps or all caps?
Small caps give text the authority of capitals without the shouting. Books use them for the first words of a chapter and for acronyms in running text, so “NASA” doesn’t jump off the page. In a bio or a profile name they look tidy and a little formal: Tʜᴇ Cᴏʀɴᴇʀ Bᴀᴋᴇʀʏ reads like a shop sign, where THE CORNER BAKERY feels loud.
What changes and what doesn’t
| You type | You get |
|---|---|
| Lowercase letters | Small capitals: ᴏᴘᴇɴ ᴅᴀɪʟʏ |
| Capital letters | Unchanged, full height |
| Numbers | Unchanged: 7ᴀᴍ |
| Accented letters | Unchanged |
Text in small caps is harder to find. A search for “bakery” won’t match ʙᴀᴋᴇʀʏ, so keep your plain name somewhere in your profile.
