Tokyo is so far ahead that the date is the thing people get wrong, not the hour. Monday morning in Tokyo is Sunday evening in New York, and a New York Friday afternoon is already Saturday morning in Japan: 5 pm on Friday, July 17, 2026 in New York is 6 am on Saturday in Tokyo.
When you write a deadline or meeting time for both offices, give the date in each city, for example “Thursday 9:00 Tokyo / Wednesday 20:00 New York” for a summer call. Use the converter with the Japanese date to get both right.
