How to convert JPG to PNG
- Drop your JPG files into the box, choose them, or paste an image.
- Each one is converted to PNG straight away. Compare the result with the divider on the preview.
- Download each PNG, or all of them as a zip.
When PNG is the better choice
- You’re going to edit the image several times, and each JPG save would lose a little more detail.
- The image is a screenshot, diagram or logo with sharp text and flat colours, where JPG leaves smudges.
- A website, app or print shop asks for PNG.
For photos you only want to share or upload, JPG is usually the better format because the files are much smaller.
JPG vs. PNG in short
JPG (also written JPEG) uses lossy compression tuned for photographs. PNG uses lossless compression, supports transparency and keeps edges crisp. Both open everywhere.
