How to extract email addresses from text

  1. Paste anything that contains email addresses into Input: an email thread, a CSV, a web page's source or a document.
  2. Read the list in Email addresses, one per line in the order they appear.
  3. Copy or download the list. Turn off Remove duplicates if you want every occurrence.

Common uses

  • Collect the addresses from a long reply-all thread or a forwarded chain to set up a group.
  • Pull contacts out of a messy CSV or CRM export where emails sit in different columns.
  • Check which addresses appear in a document before you share it.
  • Turn a pasted list of signatures into a clean column for a spreadsheet.

The text never leaves your browser, which matters when the list holds other people’s details.

Before you email the list

Finding an address in a document doesn’t mean its owner agreed to hear from you. In the EU and the UK, marketing email generally needs the recipient’s consent, and email marketing services forbid sending to scraped or bought lists. Use extracted addresses for people you already have a reason to contact.

For a tidy list, follow up with Sort lines to put the addresses in alphabetical order.
