How to sort lines

  1. Paste your list into Input, one item per line.
  2. Choose the order: A–Z, Z–A, numeric, by length or random.
  3. Optionally remove duplicates and empty lines, then copy the result.

Sorting options

  • A–Z / Z–A sorts alphabetically using natural ordering, so numbers inside text sort by value.
  • Numeric sorts by the first number on each line, including decimals and negatives.
  • Length puts the shortest lines first, which is useful for spotting outliers.
  • Random shuffles the lines, for picking winners, assigning order or randomising a playlist.

Common uses

  • Alphabetise a list of names, tags or keywords.
  • De-duplicate an email list or a column of IDs pasted from a spreadsheet.
  • Sort import statements, CSS properties or config keys.
