How to draw cards from a shuffled deck
- The deck is shuffled when the page opens. Tick Include two jokers for a 54-card deck.
- Set Cards to draw and click Draw or press Space. The counter shows how many cards are left.
- Every card drawn is listed under Drawn so far. New shuffled deck puts all the cards back; Shuffle the cards left mixes only the ones still in the deck.
What’s in a standard deck
A standard deck has 52 cards in four suits: spades and clubs in black, hearts and diamonds in red. Each suit has 13 ranks: ace, 2 to 10, jack, queen and king. Many decks also come with two jokers, used in some games and left out of most.
Using a virtual deck
- Card games without cards: deal hands for a game when you’re away from a real deck, or draw a single card to decide who deals first (highest card deals).
- Teaching probability: draw cards and compare what comes up with the odds. After 13 draws without replacement, how many hearts did you get?
- Magic practice and party games: draw a random card as a prompt, a forfeit or a “pick a card” reveal.
To roll dice instead, use the dice roller; for a single random number, the random number generator.
