How to combine images
- Drop two or more pictures into the box or choose them.
- Drag them into order, or use the arrow buttons. Then pick Side by side, Stacked or Grid and set the gap and background colour. The preview under the list shows the result as you go.
- Click Combine images to download one full-size picture.
Which layout to use
| Layout | Good for |
|---|---|
| Side by side | Before and after photos, comparing two products, a pair of portraits |
| Stacked | Screenshots of a long chat or a step-by-step guide, tall infographics |
| Grid | A collage of 4, 6 or 9 photos from a trip or event |
Side by side and stacked keep each picture whole and only change its size. Small pictures next to big ones get scaled up to match, which can make them look soft, so try to use photos of similar size.
Tips for a cleaner result
- For a tidy grid, crop the photos to the same shape first. Mixed portrait and landscape shots leave bands of background in their squares.
- Set the gap to 0 for pictures that should touch, or use 10 to 30 pixels of white for a framed, printed look. A dark background works well for night shots.
- The combined picture can be large. Compress it before emailing, or resize it for the web.
The pictures are joined in your browser, so nothing is uploaded. To do the opposite and cut one picture into pieces, use split image.
