Tally counter

Count anything with a big tap button.

Keyboard: Space, ↑ or + add, ↓ or − take away, R reset, 1 to 9 switch counter

Your counters are saved on this device and are still there next time.

Runs in your browser. Nothing uploaded.

How to use the tally counter

    1. Tap the big + button (or press Space or the up arrow) to add one. Use − (or the down arrow) to take one away.
    2. Click the name to rename the counter, or click the number to type a count directly. Set Step to count in twos, fives or tens.
    3. Press Add counter to keep several tallies at once; switch between them in the list or with keys 1 to 9. Copy or download the counts when you’re done.

    Counting with it

The big button counts on press, not on release, so fast tapping never loses a count. It’s sized for a thumb on a phone, and on a computer Space works from anywhere on the page. The number itself is a text field: click it to type a starting value, or to fix a miscount.

Use Step when you count in groups, such as boxes of 6 or rows of 10. The + button then shows the step it adds.

    Ideas for multiple counters

    • Headcounts: adults and children, or each entrance of a venue.
    • Surveys and traffic counts: cars, bikes and people walking.
    • Workouts: sets or laps for each exercise.
    • Knitting and crochet: rows and repeats.
    • Birdwatching: one counter per species.

Each counter keeps its own name and number, and the list shows the total of all of them.
