How to use the spacebar counter
- Pick a test length: 5, 10, 30 or 60 seconds.
- Press Space to start and keep pressing as fast as you can. On a phone, tap the big box instead.
- When time is up you see your presses and presses per second, plus your best for that length.
How it works
The counter starts on your first press and counts every new press of the space bar until the time runs out. Live numbers show the time left, the count and your presses per second. After the time is up there’s a short pause so the last few presses don’t start a new round.
Key repeat is ignored: a press only counts once the key has been released since the last one. That keeps scores fair between people who hold the key and people who tap it.
Tips for a higher score
- Alternate thumbs or fingers. Two digits taking turns are faster than one.
- Press lightly. Most keys register well before they bottom out.
- Try different lengths. 5 seconds tests pure speed; 60 seconds tests stamina.
