How to convert FLAC to WAV
- Drop your FLAC files into the box or choose them. You can add a whole album at once.
- WAV is already selected. Each file is decoded and saved as uncompressed audio.
- Download each WAV, or all of them together as a zip.
Why convert FLAC to WAV
FLAC is great for storing music, but not every program handles it. Some audio editors, DJ software, samplers, CD burning programs and hardware players only accept WAV. Converting gives you the same sound in the plain uncompressed format they all understand.
A note on bit depth
The WAV files made here are 16-bit, the standard for CDs and most everyday audio. That’s an exact copy for CD rips and most FLAC downloads. Hi-res 24-bit FLAC files come out as 16-bit, which is fine for listening and DJing, but keep the original FLAC if you’ll master or archive the audio. To make files smaller instead of larger, use FLAC to MP3.
