How to count the days between two dates
- Pick the start date and the end date. End date starts as today.
- Tick Include the end day if both days count, as with a holiday from Monday to Friday.
- Read the total in days, with the same span in weeks, months, weekdays and hours.
Common uses
- Counting down to a holiday, wedding, exam or due date.
- Working out notice periods, contract lengths and how long a subscription has run.
- Checking how many working days a project or a delivery window has.
- Finding out how long ago something happened.
Months are not all the same length
Results in months are counted the way people count them: from 15 January to 15 March is 2 months, even though the two months have different numbers of days. When a start day doesn’t exist in a later month, as with 31 January, the month ends on the last day available instead, so one month after 31 January is 28 or 29 February.
