CBSE grades and grade points
Under CBSE’s Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) scheme, Class 10 results gave grades instead of marks. Each grade has a grade point, and the CGPA is the average of the grade points in the five main subjects.

|---|---|---|
| 91 to 100 | A1 | 10 |
| 81 to 90 | A2 | 9 |
| 71 to 80 | B1 | 8 |
| 61 to 70 | B2 | 7 |
| 51 to 60 | C1 | 6 |
| 41 to 50 | C2 | 5 |
| 33 to 40 | D | 4 |
| 21 to 32 | E1 | |
| 20 and below | E2 |
When you need a percentage
College forms, job applications and scholarships often ask for a percentage even when your mark sheet shows a CGPA. Use the formula your board or university states, and say which one you used if the form leaves room. If you’re working out a GPA on the US 4.0 scale instead, use the GPA calculator.
