How to convert UTC to Pacific Time
- Enter the UTC time and the UTC date, for example 17:00 on a release note.
- From is UTC and To is Pacific Time (Los Angeles, Vancouver).
- Read the Pacific time. Anything before 7 or 8 am UTC is still the previous day on the West Coast.

The UTC hours that fall in the Pacific workday
A 9 to 5 day in Los Angeles runs from 16:00 to 00:00 UTC in summer and from 17:00 to 01:00 UTC in winter. So if a dashboard, status page or support rota is kept in UTC, the West Coast afternoon spills into the next UTC day.
When you read a UTC time from a status page or incident report, convert it with the date of the event. An outage logged at 15:00 UTC in January was 7 am Pacific, but the same time in July was 8 am.
