How to work out a tip
- Enter the bill amount.
- Pick 15%, 18%, 20% or 25%, drag the slider, or type any percentage in the box, such as 22.5.
- To split the bill, enter the number of people. Each person’s share appears below. Tick Round the total up to pay a whole amount, with the tip adjusted to match.
Splitting the bill fairly
Dividing the total equally is fastest and works when everyone ordered about the same. When orders differ a lot, work out each person’s share of the bill first, then add the same tip percentage to each. That way the person who had a salad isn’t paying the tip on someone else’s steak.
