How to make an invoice
- Fill in Your business once, with your logo if you like. It’s remembered on this device for next time.
- Add the client under Bill to, then your Items: description, quantity, price and tax rate. Press Enter in a row to add the next one. Add a discount and payment details if you need them.
- Check the preview and press Download PDF or Print. For the next one, New invoice moves to the next number and clears the client and items.
Your details stay on your device
Most online invoice makers ask you to sign up because they store your invoices on their servers. This one doesn’t: your business details, logo, currency, notes and the next invoice number are kept in your browser’s storage on this device. Clearing your browser data removes them. Downloaded PDFs are ordinary files, so keep them in a folder or your accounting software.
Tips for getting paid on time
- Put the due date on the invoice. The Payment due buttons fill it in from the invoice date: on receipt, or 7, 14 or 30 days.
- Make paying easy. Put your bank details or payment link in Notes, along with any reference you want the client to use.
- Describe the work clearly. “Logo design, 3 concepts and 2 rounds of changes” leaves less room for questions than “Design work”.
- Send it promptly, as a PDF, so the layout looks the same for the client as for you.
Quotes and receipts
Change Document title to make a different document from the same layout: “Quote” or “Estimate” before the work, “Receipt” after payment, or “Tax invoice” where that wording is required. To work out a price first, the markup calculator and discount calculator help.
