How to use the interval timer

  1. Pick a preset such as Tabata 20/10 × 8, or type your own work and rest times, rounds and sets. Times can be typed as seconds (45) or minutes and seconds (1:30).
  2. Press Start or Space. After the get-ready countdown, the screen shows Work or Rest with the time left in that part.
  3. Listen for three short beeps before each change and a long tone as the next part starts. Space pauses, N skips ahead, R resets.

How it works

The timer turns your settings into a plan: get ready, then work and rest for each round, with the longer set rest between sets and no rest after the very last round. The total length is shown under the settings before you start.

While it runs, the panel turns green during work and grey during rest. The big number counts down the current part; below it you see the round, the set and the total time left. Press Full screen to see it from across the room.

Sounds

  • 3, 2, 1: three short beeps in the last three seconds of each part.
  • Work starts: a high tone.
  • Rest starts: a lower tone.
  • Finished: three rising tones.

All beeps fade in and out so they don’t click, and pausing silences any that are queued.
