How do I use regular expressions?
Turn on “Regex” and type a JavaScript regular expression in Find, without the surrounding slashes. In Replace you can use $1, $2 and so on for capture groups, $<name> for named groups like (?<year>\d+), $& for the whole match and $$ for a dollar sign.
What does “Whole words” do?
It only matches complete words. With it on, finding “colour” changes “colour” but leaves “colourful” alone. It works for accented letters and other alphabets too, so “café” doesn’t match inside “cafés”.
How do I delete every match?
Leave Replace empty. Every match is removed.
Can I replace line breaks?
Yes, in both directions. Type \n for a line break and \t for a tab, in Find or in Replace, with or without Regex. To turn every comma into a new line, find , and replace with \n. To find a real backslash followed by n, type \\n.
