How to convert Eastern Time to Mountain Time

  1. Type the Eastern time and pick the date.
  2. From is Eastern Time (New York, Toronto) and To is Mountain Time (Denver). For Phoenix and most of Arizona, choose Arizona (Phoenix, no DST) in To instead.
  3. Read the Mountain time. Before 2 am Eastern, it’s still the previous evening in Denver.

MST, MDT and MT

MST is Mountain Standard Time, UTC−7, and MDT is Mountain Daylight Time, UTC−6. Invites often say MST all year even in summer, when Denver is really on MDT; the clock in Denver is what counts, and this page follows it for the date you pick. Arizona is the best-known place where MST in July is literally true, which is why the Phoenix columns differ.

TV schedules

National broadcasts that start at the same moment across the country are 2 hours earlier in Denver: an 8 pm Eastern start is 6 pm Mountain. Regular shows don’t always follow that rule, since networks set their own schedules by region, so check the local listing for those.
