How to use the days until christmas countdown
- Open the page: the number at the top is the days left, counted from today.
- Read the weeks and the weekday and weekend rows to plan around work or school.
- To count down to another date, pick it in Count down to. Clear it to go back to the holiday.
Christmas Day by year
Christmas is fixed on 25 December, but the weekday moves:
| Year | Christmas Day falls on |
|---|---|
| 2026 | Friday |
| 2027 | Saturday |
| 2028 | Monday |
| 2029 | Tuesday |
| 2030 | Wednesday |
Counting down
The big number is the days from today to Christmas Day. Today isn’t counted and Christmas Day is, which is the same as counting sleeps. The note gives the same span in weeks, and the rows split it into weekdays and weekends, handy for working out how many school days or work days are left before the break.
For a countdown to a different date, such as the day you travel home or a party, use the days until tool. For a live timer in hours, minutes and seconds, use the online timer.
