How to convert Unicode code points to text
- Paste the code points into Input. U+ codes, 0x numbers, HTML character references, JavaScript escapes and plain decimal numbers are all recognized.
- The characters appear in the result. In a sentence that mixes words and codes, only codes with a prefix (U+, 0x, , \u) are decoded and the words stay as they are.
- Copy the text, or switch to Text to code points to go the other way.
Formats it understands
| Input | Read as |
|---|---|
U+1F44B |
Hex |
0x1F44B |
Hex |
👋 |
Hex, HTML character reference |

Decimal, HTML character reference |
é |
Hex, exactly four digits |
\u{1F44B} |
Hex, any number of digits |

All of these can be mixed in one paste. Plain decimal numbers need a space or comma between them, but the other forms can run together, as in Hi or Hi.
When characters don’t show up
If a decoded character appears as an empty box or a question mark in a box, the code point is valid but the font on your device has no picture for it. Copy it into another app or try another font. Codes in the range U+E000 to U+F8FF are private use: they mean whatever a particular font or app decided, such as icon fonts, so they show nothing useful on their own.
