How to remove line breaks from text
- Paste the broken text into Input.
- Lines inside each paragraph are joined with spaces. Blank lines between paragraphs are kept.
- Copy the result back into your document or email.
Where broken lines come from
- PDFs: copied text keeps the PDF’s line ends, so every line becomes its own paragraph when you paste it into Word or Google Docs.
- Plain-text emails: many email programs wrap lines at about 72 characters, and replies quote each wrapped line.
- Terminal and code output: fixed-width tools wrap long lines with real line breaks.
This page is set up for those cases: it joins the lines of each paragraph with a space, trims stray spaces and leaves your paragraph breaks alone. For other separators, such as commas, use the full Replace newlines tool.
