How to convert inches to feet
- Take the value in inches.
- Use the formula feet = inches ÷ 12.
- For example, 70 in is 5.83 ft.
About inches and feet
A foot is exactly 12 inches, so divide inches by 12 to get feet. One inch is 0.083333 feet.
This comes up when a height, a TV stand or a piece of lumber is measured in inches and you want it in feet, or when a decimal like 5.83 ft needs turning back into feet and inches.
