How to turn Base64 into an image
- Paste the Base64 text into Input. A full data URI (data:image/png;base64,…) and the bare Base64 both work.
- The image shows as a preview, with its type and file size.
- Press Download file to save it as a PNG, JPG, GIF or WebP file.
Where Base64 images come from
Base64 turns binary data into plain letters and digits so it can sit inside text. Images end up in that form in a few common places: inline images in HTML and CSS (<img src="data:image/png;base64,…">), JSON responses from APIs that return a photo or a signature, email source code, and exports from apps that store pictures in a database.
When you meet one of these strings it’s hard to tell what it shows. Pasting it here turns it back into a picture you can see and save.
Going the other way
To embed a small icon or logo in HTML, CSS or JSON, use image to Base64, which gives you the data URI ready to paste. Keep it for small images: Base64 is about a third larger than the original file, and inline images can’t be cached separately by the browser.
